Change Is Painful…or Not!
This has been a big week for GBG & Associates. Our office is in the process of remodeling. Since we work from a home based space, the confusion is compounded. For instance, this morning I found a most important Accounts Payable file buried under a food processor and a couple of bags of olive oil, soy sauce and rice cakes.
Somehow that seemed a bit ridiculous at first. But after consideration it occurred to me that out of chaos comes some really great creative thoughts. So today, while sorting through a stack of correspondence, reading archived emails and revamping GBG hard copy files it became clear that much of this change is terrific. To avoid being tied to a desktop, we’ve been forced to put most of our work in the Cloud. There are some growing pains: Incorrect spelling on QuickBooks which aggravates me and my clients; a scattered collection of files betwixt and between the Google Drive and My Documents; Acrobat PDF files that appear in an Excel folder of reports. But also, what has surfaced are: an excellent idea for a radio show; a terrific headline for a newsletter; and a slew of old media contacts which can be resurrected on behalf of a couple of key clients.
So, in the midst of the mess, some clarity is peeking through. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it looks brighter than the one left behind.
